Delta Gems and Delta Academy

The Lubbock Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is proud to offer two impactful youth mentoring programs: Delta Academy and Delta GEMS. Dr. Betty Shabazz Delta Academy is designed for middle school girls (ages 11–14), focusing on academic success, personal development, and leadership skills. The program encourages young girls to explore math, science, technology, and their potential as future leaders.​Delta GEMS (Growing and Empowering Myself Successfully) serves high school girls (ages 14–18), helping them set and achieve personal, academic, and career goals. Through this program, participants are exposed to cultural enrichment, service learning, and life preparation workshops. W e are proud to have been recognized nationally for the strength and consistency of our mentorship programs. This recognition reflects our chapter’s deep commitment to creating  safe, empowering spaces for young women to thrive.​Our dedicated committee works hard to provide relevant, engaging, and age-appropriate workshops and lessons that speak to the needs and experiences of today’s youth. From college prep and career exploration to wellness and community service, we strive to pour into the next generation with purpose and love.
